Can We Know God?

The first question to consider is whether you believe God exists and if we can perceive the impact of the divine on humanity.

We can understand God through the following avenues:

1-1 The Human Being

Men and women grapple with disease, pain, and mortality, striving for happiness. Within this desire for happiness, religions often find the imprint of God.

1-2 Nature

Throughout history, people have recognized the beauty of Earth's creation and the wonders that occur within it, seeking answers and contemplating whether a purposeful God could have created everything.

1-3 Human Reason

Human beings have found the following reasons to believe in God:

  • Through the voice of conscience.
  • In seeking answers to questions such as: Why do good? Is death the end of life? Why does suffering exist?

1-4 The Bible

The Bible reveals God through historical accounts, teaching us how to perceive His presence. It also states that God created man and woman in His image and likeness, superior to all other beings.

2 God is Made Known

To facilitate our understanding, God takes the initiative, desiring to be known and inviting us to open our hearts. The Bible serves as a means to know God.

2.2 Covenant with God to Men and Women

The people of Israel demonstrated love for God, and God fought for their freedom, promising protection for them and their descendants if they adhered to His standards.

2.3 God the Creator

God created heaven and earth, then light, establishing day and night. He created man and woman, blessing them and instructing them to be fruitful and multiply. He placed all animals under their dominion.

Men and women have a covenant with God, allowing them to utilize all creation but always in accordance with God's will.

2.4 Passionate God

God has genuine enthusiasm for men and women, consistently communicating through prophets who reveal life's injustices and how God, through love, seeks to help us recover.

God is primarily concerned with:

  • Humanity, His primary creation.
  • Preventing the exploitation of others for personal gain.
  • Eliminating violence.
