4CS - In CLIL methodology, teaching planning has a special importance. In this phase the Teacher, individually or preferably, working with other colleagues, propose the Sequence of scaffolding with which to promote the generation of knowledge in The students./
Thus, the Model of the 4C’s proposed by Coyle (1999), which says that the planning of a didactic intervention should incorporate, in an interrelated way, the following Four elements: content, communication, cognition and culture. But the first Thing is to define the global objective and the title of the unit or topic./
These four Principles are essential to the CLIL approach. They should be used as the Framework for creating and delivering successful lessons. Then there are 4 Planning steps, based on the 4 C’s:/
-Content Refers to the learner constructing their own knowledge and developing skills. What Will the students learn? What are the learning outcomes?
-Communication: Define the use and learning of language. When planning communicative Activities, teachers should think ahead what language of learning and language For learning students should understand and produce. Then, provide students With scaffolding in order to help them to learn the content and develop high Order thinking skills and intercultural awareness.
-Cognition: To form a link between content and cognition. Using Bloom's taxonomy as Reference: remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and Creating. Encourage the use of HOTS and LOTS.
-Culture: Incorporate a cultural approach into unit./
In conclusion, We can say that the 4C’s Framework is a tool for mapping out CLIL activities And for maximizing potential in any model, at any level and any age.
