National Healthcare Privatization Debate

In Spain, healthcare service is public. In my opinion, this service should be public worldwide so that the sick or the poor will not face difficulties in receiving treatment. Public healthcare offers significant advantages:

• It guarantees healthcare for all citizens, including those with limited financial resources.
• Pharmaceutical services are free for pensioners and their beneficiaries.
• Public health services often possess more human and technical resources, leading to superior medical care quality compared to private services.

Conversely, private healthcare often presents notable drawbacks:

• It generally does not cover chronic diseases, even if they appear after the insurance policy is contracted.
• Most private companies do not include treatments for work and traffic accidents in their insurance policies.
• This type of insurance is normally canceled when the insured reaches 64 years of age, leaving many vulnerable in their later years.

To sum up, I believe national healthcare should remain public to ensure accessibility for all people, although some individuals may prefer private medical options.

Government Support for Eviction Victims

With the current economic crisis, many people cannot afford their homes, leading to forced evictions. In my opinion, the government should intervene and provide assistance to those affected.

Key reasons for government intervention include:

• The government must find solutions for people who have been evicted, such as providing social housing. It is unjust to leave individuals unprotected and homeless in situations of clear social exclusion.
• The government should negotiate with banks that persuaded individuals into mortgages with unfair terms, making them believe it was a sound investment. Therefore, the government should compel banks to accept debt forgiveness when the property is returned.

To sum up, I believe that both the government and banks should collaborate to assist evictees by providing housing solutions and forgiving their mortgage debt.

Addressing Illegal Immigration

Illegal immigration remains one of the most controversial issues in our society. In my opinion, illegal immigration must be addressed because it can lead to significant problems for those involved, often leaving them without legal recourse or support.

To manage this issue effectively, I propose the following actions:

• Firstly, rules must be established regarding employment and labor exploitation, potentially by setting a salary floor for foreign workers. This would protect employees, help avoid the informal economy, and encourage legal participation.
• Secondly, current laws must be strictly enforced, and undocumented immigrants should be deported when discovered. If undocumented migrants are not penalized, there is little incentive for individuals to migrate legally. Therefore, we should penalize those who enter the country illegally.

To sum up, I believe that the European Union should take more decisive action to curb illegal immigration.
