The Cornwall Mystery

Linda Stevenson, a 16-year-old from London, moves with her family to Cornwall. Life there seems very quiet after the hustle and bustle of London. However, something unexpected happens: one morning, she finds a corpse on the beach. She tells the police, and they search for the body, but they don't find it. Since no one has reported a missing person, they don't believe her. Then, Linda meets Mark, and together they set out to solve the mystery. Little by little, they discover clues that help them piece together the puzzle.

The Discovery

Linda Stevenson lives in a small village (Permarron) in Cornwall. She is 16 years old and has moved from London. On the beach, she finds a corpse but when she tells the police, the corpse is gone, and they do not believe her.

Meeting Mark

Linda is hit by Mark Hillman's bike. They are the same age and start at the same school in September (Seaview High School). They are in the same house, and she tells him about her discovery. He decides to help her, and they become friends.

Searching for Clues

Looking for tracks on the beach, they find some footprints that are neither of theirs nor of the police's, and they take photos. Shortly after, someone throws a garbage bag off a cliff, and they investigate.

Cliffside Discovery

At the peak of the cliff, there are two other bags: one with a dead dog and another with newspapers and metals. They plan for a man to take a look at the suspicious Mrs. Londsman's mansion and return home. The next day, they meet at half-past the appointed time.

The Mansion Visit

They go to the mansion, and Julia Johnson (a so-called actress) receives them. She has a huge house and a sister, Florence, who, since her husband died, does not come out of her room. She has two servants: Cindy (a maid) and a new manager.

Tea and a Stroll

They have tea and biscuits and then stroll through the immense garden with the condition not to get close to the stables. A man dressed in a rare costume comes out, and they go home. Mark joins Linda.

London and Carlsbrooll

Linda is going with her parents to London for the launch of her father's book when Mark's father, Mr. Hillman, wants to buy the mansion of Carlsbrooll. They take advantage of the opportunity, and they accompany him. In the house, Julia's sister receives them; she has the same hair as the woman Linda found on the beach.

Florence's Reception

She is called Florence and receives them firmly. She leaves them alone until Julia arrives, who seems to know where she had to sign as if it had been done before. They have a nice dinner at Mark's house, and on her return, they share a good night kiss.

Movie Recording

A movie is being recorded in the mansion, and they need villains. Linda and Mark are presented, and Cindy is the head of casting. Eduard comes as the director, Caranaggio (the gardener), and Julia as the protagonist. Landsman (Fifi) goes to the set and speaks with the camera.

Sneaking Around

They start recording and, during a break, they sneak into a house and discover a dressing room with glasses, a curly red wig, and a white jersey... Julia is pretending to be her sister. It is revealed, and they dine at Linda's home.

Tying the Knots

Mark's father is Mr. Hilman, and Linda's father is Mr. Stevenson. They begin to tie all the loose ends. Julia plays the role of her sister, killed her for her money, and also the dog. They just need the corpse to prove their discovery. Sergeant Harvey and Sergeant Harris are involved.

The Ruse

Linda enters the house during a break and pretends to be Mrs. Florence, staging a murder by changing clothes and running away. The police arrive, and they confess their discovery.

Confessions and Capture

They confess everything. Sergeant Harris believes them, and Harvey mocks them. The director, Eduard, and Julia try to escape but are caught. The boys become famous and earn money.
