City Thief Steals from Eileen Jacobs' Home

Witness Describes Suspect to Police

Police are hoping to make progress in catching a city thief. He was seen cycling away from the home of Eileen Jacobs after stealing a DVD player, a watch, and some jewelry. The main suspect is Neil Swains, a forty-year-old escaped convict. Daniel Cooper saw the criminal and is here to give us a description.

Presenter: Hello.

Mr. Cooper: Hello.

Presenter: Can you tell us what happened?

Mr. Cooper: Of course, I can. I was making my breakfast in the kitchen at about 8 AM when I heard a noise in Eileen's backyard. I knew she had gone on vacation last weekend, so I went to investigate.

Presenter: What did you see?

Mr. Cooper: I noticed the back door was open. It looked like someone had forced it open.

Presenter: Are you sure it was forced open?

Mr. Cooper: Oh yes, it was definitely forced open.

Presenter: What did you do next?

Mr. Cooper: I went inside. While I was going in, somebody opened the door at the front of the house.

Presenter: And you saw who it was?

Mr. Cooper: No, I did not. At that moment, I ran to the front of the house, and when I looked out the front door, I saw a man climbing onto a bike.

Presenter: What did he look like?

Mr. Cooper: He was quite fat.

Presenter: Just "quite fat"?

Mr. Cooper: Yes, he was not huge or anything like that.

Presenter: Did you see his face?

Mr. Cooper: Yes, I did. He had a mustache and big, bushy eyebrows.

Presenter: What about his hair? Did he have a ponytail?

Mr. Cooper: Oh no, I don't remember his hair.

Presenter: Are you sure you can't remember?

Mr. Cooper: Quite sure, because he didn't have any.

Presenter: He didn't have any hair?

Mr. Cooper: That's right. He was completely bald.

Presenter: Are you sure about that?

Mr. Cooper: Oh yes.

Presenter: The witnesses from previous burglaries said he was wearing glasses or a baseball cap.

Mr. Cooper: He definitely wasn't wearing glasses or a baseball cap.

Presenter: What did he do next?

Mr. Cooper: He started cycling. I tried to chase him, but he was going too fast on his bike, so I called the police.

Presenter: Okay, thank you, Mr. Cooper. If anyone has any further information about where this man is or can help police progress in their investigations, please contact the show. We will all be a little safer if they catch him and convince Wayans.
