VoIP Configuration Setup (CME)

Ephone and Directory Number Configuration

We configure ephone 1 with its specific MAC address and assign a button type. We also define ephone-dn 2, assigning it the extension number 4002.

CME System Initialization and Firmware Management

The following steps detail the process of installing necessary firmware files and configuring the router to serve these files to IP phones.

Firmware Installation via TFTP

First, ensure the necessary files are copied to the router's flash memory and extracted. This process often requires a router reload.

Note: Tar files must be installed on your router.

The IP address 192.168.21.2 is the TFTP server address.

Transferring Firmware to IP Phones

Configure the router to act as an HTTP and TFTP server to distribute firmware files (e.g., P00403020214.bin and TERM70.DEFAULT.loads) to the IP phones.
