The result of the mix between reality and fiction came a genre: the chivalric novel. In this genre are located: C and T / strong and courageous knights (human), whose actions become a form of logic, perfectly localized in familiar landscapes. Curial e Güelfa

Curial e Güelfa is an anonymous work written toward the middle of the 15th century. It is structured in three books: 1) the education and training of Curial, 2) the knight's participation in a tournament, and 3) his captivity and return. The novel places the reader in familiar locations. To make it even more incredible, the characters have names of contemporary historical figures from that era. The theme revolves around the ascent of a young man of low social status through knighthood, with humorous passages.

Tirant lo Blanc

Tirant lo Blanc features a brawny man and wrestler who had several disagreements with a gentleman who did not even reach battle. He also had conflicts with Ausiàs March and Joan de Monpalau (who married their sisters) over questions of inheritance and honor. Although Joan died in 1468, Tirant was not published until 1490.

Character Analysis

The narrative reflects reality through the treatment of characters and the course of the story. The characters exhibit psychological evolution, showcasing their actions and expressions. The novel has a geographic framework and employs ironic humor, especially when the action focuses on everyday life and romantic intrigue.
