Feeding
- Raw food in the mornings and kibble in the evenings.
Identifying Banzai and Fuji
- Fuji has white fur, Banzai has darker fur.
Approaching
- When approaching the ferrets be slow, as they might run away if you are too fast.
Handling
- Fuji likes her stretches: place thumbs beneath her forefeet and push back, when she pushes back that's how you know to stop.
- Whilst Banzai and Fuji are eating Banzai might try and run off with the food. You can spot this if he has his head over the counter on the edge of the table top. If he jumps off and runs do not panic. You will be able to find him underneath the cabinet in the living room, a lot of the time he leaves his tail hanging out, to retrieve him lightly pull on his tail until you can grab his body.
- If for any reason Banzai bites you while handling him you should grab him by the scruff of his neck, and separate him whilst still holding by the scruff, hold until he yawns, and then put him outside.
- When interacting with Fuji she can sometimes be very erratic, we call this her being scatty. This behaviour is normal and means she is excited, whilst in this mood she might bite however these aren't really bites they are friendly play bites, she means you no harm, and these bites are not very strong. The best way to play with her whilst she is like this is making fast gestures in front of her. She enjoys this a lot!
Encouraging Fuji to Eat
- Fuji sometimes needs encouragement to eat, you can do this by keep on placing her near the food, if she continues to not eat, either try keeping her in place near the food until she keeps eating or just give up and pop her outside.
Playing
- Do not worry if you see them playing roughly, this is very normal for ferrets and they know safety boundaries by nature.
Finding Banzai
- If Banzai does not appear after calling, try putting Fuji away and then trying again every few minutes or so.
