The Critical Problem of Bullying in Society

I think that bullying is an important problem in our country and society. Furthermore, bullying is dangerous for children and young people because their feelings at those ages are very sensitive. When children feel threatened, they don't know what to do, and they can commit suicide or simply avoid society.

Many children don't tell their parents when they are being bullied by other children in their school because they are frightened. I hope that, with time, these children will no longer be afraid. Last month, I watched on TV an incident in a school in Spain. One boy killed a classmate because he thought that the boy was saying private things. In my opinion, adults should be vigilant regarding bullying affecting their children.

Addressing Global Warming and Climate Change

The Urgency of Temperature Rise

Everybody knows that global warming is a critical issue. According to some statistics, the Earth's temperature increases each year. What can we do to stop global warming? On one hand, I think that global warming should be addressed, resulting in many ecological disasters and many species dying because they are losing their habitat. On the other hand, the government should try to reduce excessive pollution to prevent the temperature from rising so fast. For example, by rewarding those who use bicycles for commuting or investing in reusable products. In addition, all people should collaborate. To sum up, I want to reiterate that global warming is a problem on which we must all work together to save our planet.

Combating Domestic Violence

Statistics and Necessary Action

Everybody knows that domestic violence is a critical issue. According to some statistics, one in ten women suffer domestic violence. What can we do to stop domestic violence? On one hand, I think that domestic violence should be stopped and punished by justice. Many women continue to suffer in their homes and are still afraid of going out into the street. On the other hand, the government should, in order to reduce this fear, punish aggressors with longer prison sentences or monitor them more closely. To sum up, I want to reiterate that domestic violence should disappear forever.

Political Commitment to Climate Change Mitigation

Our politicians should take the initiative to try to solve problems relating to climate change, and accept that we are in a planetary emergency.

We cannot continue claiming that:

  • The planet is very resilient.
  • What humans are doing to the Earth is insignificant compared to the changes experienced by natural causes.
  • There have been other notable changes in the composition of the atmosphere and in temperature historically.

But, as noted by forecasters, the problem is not so much the changes themselves, but the speed at which they occur.

The Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) suggests there is still time to slow down the effects of climate change. Any possible solution will only be effective if governments around the world are seriously committed to this end.
