Action Research and Participatory Action Research

Research Action (AR)

*a. Value of the Researcher Investigated*

The researcher investigated breaks into a relationship of interest transformers. The research results are dumped on the other observed. The relationship between subject and another transformation is observed. Pragmatic perspective (subject to the other and vice versa observed causing a symmetrical relationship).

*b. Conception of the Object*

Observe to know, though differing in the method of study. Acting to know.

*c. Logic of Research*

Social Intervention

Participatory Action Research (PAR)

*a. Value of the Researcher Investigated*

Radical transformation in the way of investigating. Exchange of roles: The other device is observed synthesizer and becomes conductor of the research process; the researcher changes position to show how a tutor who supports and streamlines research practice. The relationship is reversed, and the learning process is more thoughtful.

*b. Conception of the Object*

It shows a distinct goal: pursuing the transformation of other pro caused the observed effect of the research to transform transforms.

*c. Logic of Research*

Social Transformation.

Project Design: AR and PAR

Common Elements in the Design of AR and PAR Projects

In a project, the action itself requires a prior agreement on the method or strategy. For the formulation of social research, it is undertaken by the team of experts, and their approval means the implementation of the project. In AR, the project cannot be made solely by the experts; the participation of observers throughout the process of gestation is the only way that the subjects involved can be recognized later in the problem formulated.

This participatory project design has these common elements:

  1. Speaking involved in formulating the project's conception of itself becomes an act of open bargaining that occurs at several levels:
    • Between the investigator and the applicant
    • Between researcher and participant groups
    • Among the group of participants.
  2. The AR project is not completely controlled by either the investigator or by the applicant.
  3. The need for flexibility in the formulation and design. (formulation negotiated and democratization in the decision)

The opening of the research can only be approached from a qualitative methodological perspective. This implies that the interpretation will be more complex in the normally heterogeneous information presented.
