Steps for Training a Machine Learning Project in the Cloud

Definition: Cloud ML Project Training

Training an ML Project in the Cloud means utilizing cloud-based resources and services to build, train, and optimize a Machine Learning model.

The Seven Key Steps in Cloud ML Training

  1. Data Collection: Gather and upload the dataset to cloud storage.
  2. Data Preprocessing: Clean and prepare data using cloud notebooks or specialized processing services.
  3. Model Selection: Choose the appropriate algorithm or utilize a pre-built model architecture.
  4. Training: Use scalable cloud compute resources (GPUs/TPUs) for intensive model training.
  5. Evaluation: Test model accuracy and performance using validation data.
  6. Hyperparameter Tuning: Optimize model parameters for better

Methamphetamine Crisis in New Zealand

Methamphetamine (Meth) is highly prevalent in New Zealand. It affects brain functioning and mental health by releasing dopamine, noradrenaline, and serotonin—crucial neurotransmitters.

Prevalence and Production

Meth use among young adults aged 15–24 is a significant health issue, exacerbated by the drug's accessibility and frequency of use.

The latest New Zealand Health Survey estimates that about 34,000 individuals aged 16 to 64 used amphetamines in the past year.

The Dangers of Methamphetamine Production

Methamphetamine production involves a simple recipe often available online, allowing synthesis in as little as six hours using easily transportable cookware. Common ingredients include:

  • Over-the-counter

A chronic inflammatory disease of medium and large arteries, caused by endothelial injury and lipid accumulation.

Key Risk Factors:

  • Hypertension
  • Hyperlipidemia
  • Smoking
  • Diabetes

Lesions evolve from fatty streaks → fibrous plaques → complicated plaques.

Common Complications:

  • Myocardial Infarction (MI)
  • Stroke
  • Aneurysm
  • Peripheral Artery Disease

Histologically, it shows lipid cores, calcification, and fibrous caps.

Hypertensive Disease: Organ Damage & Malignant Forms

Chronic blood pressure (BP) elevation causes vascular and organ damage.

Consequences Include:

  • Arteriolosclerosis
  • Left Ventricular (LV) hypertrophy
  • Stroke

Parkinson's Disease: Pharmacological Treatments

The primary pharmacological treatment for Parkinson's disease focuses on replenishing dopamine, the neurotransmitter deficient in the disease, and managing associated symptoms. Levodopa, often combined with carbidopa, is the cornerstone of treatment, alongside dopamine agonists, MAO-B inhibitors, COMT inhibitors, and anticholinergic agents.

Key Medications for Parkinson's Disease

  1. Levodopa

Levodopa is a dopamine precursor that can cross the blood-brain barrier and is converted into dopamine in the brain.

It is typically combined with carbidopa, which inhibits the breakdown of levodopa before it reaches the brain, reducing side effects and improving efficacy.

Levodopa is effective in improving motor symptoms
