Police Protocol for Assault Response and Vehicle Pursuit
Incident Response and Evidence Collection
Upon notification from the Board of Commissioners, we proceeded immediately to the scene on Alcala Street.
Initial Scene Assessment
- Upon arrival, confirmed via radio, we witnessed the end of the assault.
- The offender, noticing our presence, brandished the bar used in the attack, ignored our instructions, and fled.
Victim Aid and Reporting
Subsequently, we secured the victim and notified the Board, requesting an ambulance for immediate medical evacuation (medevac) to a hospital, as the victim's injuries objectively require medical intervention.
We immediately reported the direction of flight, providing a detailed description of the suspect and the getaway vehicle:
Suspect Description Details
- Sex, height, clothing, complexion, and any other relevant details.
Getaway Vehicle Details
- Direction taken, model, color.
- Noting the characteristic lack of license plates.
Post-Incident Procedures
We will perform the following actions:
- Traffic Restoration: Restore road traffic and area security by arranging for the removal of the assaulted vehicle and completing the necessary tow records.
- Victim Follow-up: Once emergency services complete their functions, we will note the location where the victim is transported for a subsequent, proper interview regarding the incident.
- Evidence Seizure: We will seize the bar used in the attack, completing the corresponding evidence record, including a description of this object, which is presumed to be the weapon used in the aggression.
Patrol 2: Vehicle Interception and Sanctioning
Upon locating a vehicle whose characteristics match those reported, Patrol 2 proceeds to initiate a stop, taking all necessary precautions due to the high risk of the suspect fleeing or engaging in further aggressive behavior.
Documentation Requirements
The driver is required to present a driving license and relevant vehicle documentation, pursuant to Article 59.3 of the LSV (Road Safety Law). Required documents include:
- Registration Certificate.
- Technical Inspection Card (ITV).
- Proof of compulsory insurance payment (submission of the receipt itself is not strictly prescriptive).
Vehicle Identification
Vehicle identification details (registration/license plate number) can be deduced from the submitted documentation:
- Paragraph A of the Registration Certificate.
- The stamping on the ITV card.
- The chassis number imprinted on the frame (location varies by model, often under the hood).
Sanction Notification
Subsequently, we will inform the driver that they will be sanctioned for violating Article 25 of RGVeh 2822/98 (December 23) in relation to Article 62 of the LSV, concerning the corresponding vehicle plates.
The registered owner is responsible, pursuant to Article 72 of the Road Safety Act (currently Article 69, as amended).
