The Product is the objective through which the company seeks to influence the market. The product encompasses everything the consumer wants to acquire. Companies often seek competitive advantages by creating unique product attributes. The presentation and packaging are very important.

Brand Identity

The Brand is a name, symbol, or design used to identify the services, property, or business. A brand consists of two main elements: the name and the logo. The name should be easy to remember, short, and simple.

Product Life Cycle (PLC)

The Product Life Cycle describes the stages a product goes through from its introduction to its withdrawal from the market:

  • Introduction Stage (Seed Stage)
  • Growth Stage
  • Maturity Stage
  • Decline Stage

Price

The Price is the monetary value the buyer pays to the seller for a specific good in exchange for its acquisition. Price significantly influences the buyer's purchasing decisions.

Pricing Strategies Based on Economic Theory

The company sets the price to achieve the objective of maximizing benefits:

  • At a high price, the seller offers a greater quantity of product.
  • However, at a high price, the buyer demands less product.
  • Conversely, the buyer desires a low price and purchases a greater quantity of product.

Pricing Strategies Based on Competition

Pricing can be set relative to competitors:

  • Set a price similar to the competition.
  • Set a price below or above the competition.

Distribution (Place)

Distribution Process

The distribution process involves:

  1. Product storage.
  2. Distribution and transport (often involving brokers or intermediaries).
  3. Billing and collection.

    • Wholesalers: Sell to other intermediaries.
    • Retailers: Intermediaries who sell the product directly to the consumer.

Specialized Distribution Methods

  • Franchise: A contracted company maintains specialized retail sales.
  • Teleshopping: Sales via TV, radio, or telephone, often charging via cash on delivery (COD) or credit card.
  • Mail Order: Orders placed via credit card, COD, etc.
