Finding Yourself in the French Countryside

“You need to get lost in order to find yourself.” That is what my family and I discovered during the summer of 2013, when we got lost in the middle of nowhere in France. We stayed in a beautiful cabin nestled in a lush, green forest, full of trees and flowers, to enjoy a week of peacefulness during our summer holidays.

A Secluded French Retreat

France was our destination; we wanted peace and quiet, away from civilization, which our cottage in the woods provided. As we drove along what seemed like an endless road, we arrived at a large, ancient cottage located in a vivid grassland surrounded by blossoms. The forest featured sky-high, bright green trees with moistened trunks, shining under the rays of a cloudless sky. Moreover, next to the house, there was a crystal-clear stream—truly an idyllic place.

The Power of Family Bonds

The uniqueness of this place was not only due to its landscapes but also the company of my family. A deep bond grew between us during this trip, thanks to the laughs and unforgettable moments we shared. It made me realize how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family. I felt blissfully happy during that vacation, and ever since, we have traveled together every summer.

Immersed in Nature

As the days passed, we decided to wander through the woods. It was a kingdom reigned by quiet and peace that captivated all our senses, where the cheerful warbling of birds was music to our ears, and the smell of humidity and dew acted as a natural fragrance. It was an afternoon full of laughter, beauty, and wilderness.

A Legacy of Adventure

To summarize, that cottage in France, surrounded by incredible and unique nature, was the beginning of countless memorable adventures with my family. Since that moment, we have taken trips together all over the country and abroad every year. However, I will never forget the great joy and happiness I felt during that first vacation. Without a doubt, it remains one of the best trips I have ever taken.
