Mathematical Proportions in Egyptian Sculpture

Since their origin, Egyptian sculptures have been intrinsically linked with geometry. The Egyptians were the first to relate to and identify with the beauty of mathematics. Body parts had to adhere to specific measures and standards of beauty and proportion; for instance, a sculpture was intended to measure a total of eighteen fists.

Analysis of the Mykerinos Triad

The image reflected in the Mykerinos triad appears between the goddess Hathor and the personification of the nome of Kynopolis. The sculpture is crafted from dark, hard slate and stands ninety-two inches high. Carved from an octagonal block, all figures are depicted standing. The Pharaoh’s left leg moves forward, while his arms, ending...

Definition of Health and Workplace Well-being

Health is defined as the state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not only the absence of disease or infirmities.

Health at Work

Work influences physical, mental, and social health. This influence can occur in two ways:

  • Positively: It meets needs and promotes personal development.
  • Negatively: It generates occupational hazards, causes damage to health, and requires prevention.

Prevention: These are measures taken at all stages of business activity in order to avoid risks from work.

Workplace Risks and Damages

Risks: This is the possibility of a worker suffering an injury derived from their work.

Damages: These are pathologies or diseases suffered by reason of, or as a result of, work....

Human Blood Groups, Rh Factor, Nutrition, Diseases and Genetic Disorders: A Health Reference

Blood Groups and Antigens

Red blood cells carry antigens (proteins) on their surface. Depending on which antigens are present, the blood belongs to a specific group, and the plasma contains antibodies against the antigens that are absent.

  • Group A: has A antigens and anti-B antibodies.
  • Group B: has B antigens and anti-A antibodies.
  • Group AB: has A and B antigens and no antibodies against them.
  • Group O: has no A or B antigens and has both anti-A and anti-B antibodies.

The agglutination reaction occurs when an antibody meets its matching antigen, causing red blood cells to clump together.

Rh Factor

Some people have a protein called the Rh factor on their red blood cells:

  • Rh positive (Rh+): the protein is present.
  • Rh negative (Rh-): the protein is absent.

Training Principles for Optimal Physical Condition

Sport and physical education2.65 KB

Principles of Training

The capabilities we all possess are capable of being improved by training. A training system has to be customized based on the needs and requirements of each individual.

Organic Adaptation

The adaptation mechanisms that training produces in the human body will result from the cause-effect relationship between physical stimuli and the response each of us is capable of giving to these stimuli, as a function of their nature and their genetic characteristics.

Adaptation is the functional and morphological modification that occurs progressively in our body due to the application of training loads or simply due to adaptation to the environment in which we live.

The training principles are the guidelines to be followed for the equipment...

Health & Quality of Life Defined

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

  • A person's health cannot be defined solely by physical condition.
  • The idea of health should be ambitious, including positive elements such as overall well-being.

Factors Influencing Personal Health

Health depends on three key factors:

  • Individual Lifestyle: Includes personal behaviors such as diet and physical activity.
  • Environmental Factors: Includes social aspects like climate and pollution.
  • Genetic Factors: Depends on inherited genes.

Origin of the Lexicon

Most of the Spanish lexicon comes from Latin, although it also includes words from other languages. Depending on their evolution, words can be classified as follows:

Types of Words by Origin

  • Patrimonial words: they have existed since the origins of the language and have undergone phonetic changes over time until today.
  • Cultisms: Latin words that entered directly into the language, often belatedly, and remain unchanged. Some are also loans.
  • Doublets: a Latin word that gives rise to two words: one patrimonial and one cultism.
  • Loanwords: words introduced from other languages into our own. They are usually adapted to the pronunciation of our language or kept in their original form.
  • Neologisms: new words that enter the language either
