Christmas in Barcelona: A Family Celebration

Naples Street, October 12th, 2014

Dear Anna,

How is England at this time of the year? It is a pity that you could not come to Barcelona this Christmas. Christmas is very special for me, as all of my family comes to the city to celebrate. My favorite part is when, in the morning of the 25th of December, we open our Christmas presents and then, after lunch, take the dogs out for a walk. It's fun and quite enjoyable! We play and joke around all day long. When the day is over, we are exhausted but, at the same time, it makes us very happy. I hope you are able to come next year so that we can have a lot of fun together.

Write soon,

Cristina.

Would Men Be Happy Without Women?

I believe that men would not be happy without women, as they bring joy to our lives. We should also consider their beauty; they are usually kind and pleasant, whereas men are often less so.

In conclusion,...

Inquiry Regarding DJ Services for School Party

Dear Mr. Beat,

I am writing in response to your advertisement in the local newspaper. I would like to ask for some more information about your DJ service.

We are planning to hold a spring party at our school on Saturday, 10th June, to celebrate the end of the year. The party will last about four hours (from 10 PM to 2 AM). Could you tell me how much you would charge to be our DJ?

You say in your advert that you have all the latest pop hits. Please let me know if it is possible for us to choose the songs we would like. I would also like to know if you encourage people to dance or demonstrate any dances.

I would be grateful if you could let

Only 16% of women contacted the police as a result of the most serious incident of physical and/or sexual violence they experienced from a non-partner after the age of 15.

"I am a doctor and I consider myself to be a strong, feminist woman. I was raped by a male doctor colleague in 2012 and never went to the police, due to embarrassment... Most people on my team knew that my rapist stalked me at work and harassed me both within and outside of work. Nobody did anything, and I felt too broken to act in any constructive way. I just hid and avoided."

The Vital Role of Education and Drug Policy Reform

The Fundamental Right to Education

We know the importance of education for the healthy development of a person and society. This progress is possible thanks to education. In Spain, education is compulsory until the age of 16. However, in other countries, many children do not go to school. To understand the importance of the right to education, we shall look at what happens in less developed countries where this right is not assured.

Challenges in Underdeveloped Nations

In underdeveloped countries such as Bangladesh, for instance, in the 12-16 age group, only 26% of girls and boys go to school. What are they doing if they don't go to school? Unfortunately, they must perform the following activities to survive:

  • Working in factories, mines, or markets,

In making these important decisions there are many things that can influence us. Therefore, before any of these questions are answered or before taking any decision, it is very important to first get to know ourselves.
