Job Application: Waiter Position

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in the waiter position at Bar Alameda, which I recently saw advertised locally. As you can see from my attached CV, I completed a course at FP in Ourense, where I was trained as a bartender. In my previous role as a full-time waiter, I was responsible for food service. Moreover, I have three years of experience as a delivery driver, where I honed my efficiency. I am now seeking this position to expand my professional experience. People describe me as a passionate, fast worker who takes pride in performing tasks well. I believe I would be a great fit for your team and am available for an interview at your convenience. Please do not hesitate to contact me for further details. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,
Xavier Alonso

The Impact of Online Information on Memory

Nowadays, all the information we could ever need is available online, leading some to believe that we no longer need to remember anything. While it is true that we can find answers to almost any question within seconds, there are several reasons why relying solely on the internet is unwise.

  • Accessibility: Not everyone has internet access at all times, so we cannot rely on it completely.
  • Efficiency: It takes time to look up information, whereas remembering basic facts saves time and effort.
  • Cognitive Health: Constant reliance on digital resources may weaken our ability to retain information and undermine critical thinking.
  • Reliability: Without memory, we would struggle in situations without connectivity or during emergencies.

In conclusion, while the internet offers many advantages, we should prioritize the quality of our own memory and skills rather than surrendering them completely.

Formal Complaint: Brighton Accommodation

Subject: Complaint regarding Brighton flat rental

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with my stay at one of your Brighton flats last month, as the property differed significantly from your advertisement.

  • WiFi Access: Your advert promised free WiFi; however, I was charged 20 pounds, and the connection was unusable.
  • Kitchen Facilities: The advert stated the kitchen included a fridge, but there was no fridge provided.
  • Location: The advert claimed the beach was 100 metres away, but it was at least 2 kilometres away.

For these reasons, I insist on a full refund. I look forward to your prompt response.

Yours faithfully,
Xavier Alonso
