Technical Drawing Systems and Projection Methods

Visual arts and art education2.76 KB

Dihedral System

A representation system using cylindrical projection angles.

Elements

  • Two perpendicular planes of projection: Vertical plane and horizontal plane.
  • Intersection: The line between the vertical and horizontal planes.

Objects can be represented as points, straight lines, or solid plane figures. Their projections are called:

  • Elevation (Front view)
  • Plan (Top view)
  • Profile (Side view)

Dimensioning Standards

Normalization is a set of graphic rules with the objective of facilitating international comprehension of technical drawings. Dimensioning marks the measurements of a piece using lines and numbers.

Bounding Elements

  • Dimension lines
  • Auxiliary or reference lines
  • Dimension numbers

Dimensioning Systems

  • Parallel
  • Series
  • Combined

Modern Art Movements and Geometric Principles Explained

Impressionism: Capturing Natural Light

The main initiator of this movement was Claude Monet, focusing primarily on landscapes. Key artists include:

  • Claude Monet
  • Alfred Sisley
  • Camille Pissarro

Pioneers of the Avant-Garde

These artists paved the way for modern movements:

  • Vincent Van Gogh: His undulating forms and colors influenced Expressionism.
  • Paul Gauguin: His Polynesian paintings influenced Fauvism.
  • Paul Cézanne: Simplified forms into cubes, cylinders, and spheres, leading to Cubism.
  • Edvard Munch: His work, such as The Scream, became a symbol of horror and violence, influencing Expressionism.

Radical Artistic Expressions

René Magritte challenged the perception of reality, while Marcel Duchamp introduced readymades—everyday objects transformed into...

Rolled Flank Steak

Preparation: Mix garlic, parsley, oregano, chili, parmesan, and grated breadcrumbs. Place the mixture orderly over the extended meat. Add eggs, peppers, carrots, and smoked bacon, then tie the meat. Roll it in cling film. Cook in a court bouillon for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Cool the meat in the liquid and press it while it is still warm.

Vitel Thoné

To prepare this dish, make a broth with vegetables. Cook the peceto (eye of round beef) in the broth. Leave it to cool in the cooking broth until ready for use. Process the remaining ingredients along with half of the capers. Cut the beef into thin layers and coat (napar) them with the sauce. Decorate before serving.

Implementing Dynamic Shape Animation with HTML5 Canvas

Visual arts and art education2.48 KB

Initialization and Global Variables

The following variables manage the state of the shapes and their counts:

var shapes = [];
var tCount = 0;
var mCount = 0;

Setup Function

The init() function starts the animation loop:

function init() {
    draw();
    timer = setInterval(update, 20);
}

Animation Logic

The update() function handles shape generation, movement, and cleanup:

function update() {
    // Generate shapes randomly
    if (tCount < 5 && Math.floor((Math.random() * 200) + 1) == 1) {
        var shape = new Shape();
        shape.x = 400;
        shape.xVel = -5;
        shape.y = Math.floor((Math.random() * 40) + 41);
        shape.width = Math.floor((Math.random() * 20) + 21);
        shape.chooseColor();
        tCount++;

Visual Arts Fundamentals: Color, Light, and Composition Techniques

Color Classification and Theory

Colors are generally classified as: Warm (yellow and red) and Cold (blue and green).

Chromatic Scales

Chromatic scales are distinguished in turn as High, Medium, and Low:

  • High Scale: Used when modulating the saturation value and containing a high amount of white.
  • Medium Scale (Saturated): Used when modulations are not far from the pure, saturated color tone.
  • Low Scale: Used when modulating the value and containing a high amount of black (low light).

Polychrome: These are ranges of variations involving two or more colors. The best example of this type of scale is the Rainbow.

Chiaroscuro: Light and Shadow Contrast

The chiaroscuro effect is achieved through the distribution and contrast of light and shadow in a painting...

Fundamental Principles of Light and Color Theory

Visual arts and art education3.47 KB

Properties of Light and the Visible Spectrum

Light consists of multiple wavelengths. The visible spectrum contains wavelengths that are larger than those of X-rays but smaller than microwaves. White light includes all wavelengths of the visible spectrum. Within this spectrum, the red wavelength is less energetic than the violet wavelength. Generally, wavelengths beyond the visible spectrum have less energy than those within the spectrum.

Propagation and Behavior of Light

Light propagates in a straight line. When light interacts with objects, it can behave in several ways: it can be absorbed, transmitted, or reflected.

  • A light ray incident on a red object reflects red wavelengths.
  • A light beam incident perpendicularly on a smooth and opaque object
