Sport and physical education2.3 KB

6 Steps of Preventative Discipline

  • Create the right team culture
  • Hold team meetings
  • Develop team rules
  • Create team routines
  • Conduct exciting practices
  • Catch them doing good

Define Positive Discipline Approach

  • Distinguish between two types of mistakes or misbehaviors:
    • Athletes trying to perform a skill but lacking mastery or knowledge.
    • Athletes who willfully misbehave.
  • Take prompt action to correct the behavior.

The key is knowing when your athletes need instruction and when they need correction.

Why Athletes Misbehave

  1. Misbehaving athletes are often discouraged.
  2. They may feel they do not belong or lack significance to the team.

Sport and physical education2.67 KB

What Is the Warm-Up?

The warm-up is a group of exercises whose goal is to prepare the body for an activity that is more intense than normal.

The Different Stages of a Warm-Up

There are two main stages of the warm-up: the general part and the activity-specific part. The general part can be used for all sports. The activity-specific part is done after the general part and will vary depending on the sport.

Stage 1: Joint Mobility

The first stage is to move your joints. You have to move each joint in all possible directions. It is best to start from the bottom of your body to the top or vice versa, so as not to forget any joints. This stage is especially important if you have had a previous injury in any joint. If this is the case, you need to focus...

Early Intervention Strategies for Visually Impaired Children

Sport and physical education3.12 KB

1. Individual Early Intervention (0-3 Years)

For children aged 0-3, schedules are coordinated with parents. Teachers provide simple worksheets, and the child is regularly assessed. It is crucial for parents to be present during sessions to observe developmental curriculum, learn strategies, understand waiting times, and support all areas of development beyond visual stimulation.

2. Family-Centered Intervention

Objectives of the Intervention

Boosting Language Skills in Children with Down Syndrome

Sport and physical education2.05 KB

Tips to Encourage Language Use and Understanding in the Classroom

Place the child near the teacher to facilitate visual communication. Speech development may be slow and accompanied by gestures. Ensure the child maintains visual contact when speaking. Use images, objects, and materials to reinforce verbal communication, capitalizing on the visual strengths of these children. When engaging in activities or games, repeat the rules several times or provide examples.

When communicating directly with the child, use rich, age-appropriate language, avoiding childish terms. If the child's speech is difficult to understand, avoid saying "no" or "I don't understand." Instead, ask specific questions to help them express themselves. Avoid rushing to help;...

Sustainable Silviculture and Selective Forest Management

Sport and physical education3.67 KB

Selection Cutting by Diameter

This method produces an irregular forest mass. It is often referred to as "diameter selection" rather than a standard harvest.

While the method is involved in each stand at a time, only one type of silvicultural work is performed within each specific clump:

  • Selection regeneration
  • Selection intermediate
  • Selection release and improvement

This approach serves the dual purpose of regeneration and improvement.

When the headquarters or management area is large enough,...
