Football is played in every country in the world. There are many prestigious competitions, such as the World Cup, the Champions League, the National League, and the European Cup Championship. The sport features many stars, for example, Messi, who plays for Barcelona, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Real Madrid. On the other hand, there is a significant amount of money involved; therefore, I believe it has become a major business, and I disagree with the excessive salaries these famous stars earn. In conclusion, this sport is very entertaining for people of all ages, and many young boys play it.

Television Habits and Advertising

1. Avoiding Television

The writer suggests two solutions for avoiding TV: zapping or selling your television set.

Zapping requires training because constantly changing channels can be annoying.

Opposite solutions include staying calm while searching for a missing remote control, or in extreme cases, resorting to violence.

4. Vocabulary Exercises

a) Failure, interesting, near. b) Remote, calm, should.

5. Zapping Challenges

a) Your zapping skills must be practiced regularly; pushing buttons on the remote control may cause muscular pain in the hand. b) Whenever you start to zap, you cannot seem to stop, which can be very annoying.

6. The Role of Advertising

Today, advertising is increasingly popular. On one hand, it is a marvelous way of selling all kinds of products, especially new ones. We find adverts in many places, such as magazines, newspapers, shopping centers, and on television. In addition, you see and read adverts as you travel along roads and motorways, which are sometimes very interesting. On the other hand, they can be very annoying, especially on TV when you are watching something interesting and are interrupted by many adverts. Finally, I would say that advertising is necessary for producers to sell their products.
