Dana's Magic and the Valley of Wolves
Dana and Kai's Unusual Friendship
Dana, a girl of 8 years, had a friend, Kai, whom only Dana could see. They always went together into the forest to observe the animals and watch their lives. Dana and Kai talked all day about their things, but since only Dana could see Kai, the townspeople thought Dana was crazy. Everyone laughed at her, even the neighbors her age when she passed, throwing stones.
Hardship and a Mysterious Stranger
A few months later, a sharp change in the atmosphere occurred, preventing the usual winter and leading to a severe drought. Three relatives still died from the cold, and food and water became scarce. A few weeks after, Dana was heading towards a small hole located in the middle of the forest when a strange man in a gray robe asked for directions to the city. He told her that night all their problems would be solved, but what Dana did not know was that the man had noticed Kai's strange presence. As the man had said, that evening it began to rain.
Journey to the Tower of Magic
Several days later, the same man who had met Dana while she was drawing water from the well, sat in an old chair in her home. Her parents could not feed the whole family and so had thought that the man would take her and give her a good education. That man allowed Kai to accompany them, since he could be felt but not seen by others. They were heading towards the Tower, the home and school of magic belonging to that strange man, located in the Valley of the Wolves. Something about that man had intrigued Dana and Kai for four days.
Training in the Arcane Arts
After a long journey, they finally arrived in the Valley of the Wolves. This tower was huge, and Dana was very surprised. The man, whom Dana now called Master, would teach her all the tricks of magic. The next morning, Dana began investigating the areas of the tower, and in the evening, the Master gave her a book to learn all the basic levels of magic. Dana finally passed the test of Free Water and changed her tunic from white to violet.
The Path to True Sorcery
The next book was The Book Of The Earth, where she exchanged her violet robe for a green one, and with The Book Of The Air, she exchanged the green tunic for a blue one. She only had one level left to become a true magician: The Book of Fire, the most difficult. In 5 years at the school, Dana had become a true magician, only dreaming of one day surpassing the Master.
A Vision and a Quest
In recent years, Dana had grown distant from Kai and hardly ever saw him. A woman, Aoni, appeared to Dana, speaking of a unicorn, and she felt very curious to the point where one day she decided to find out more. The next day, Dana decided to look for the unicorn. That night, she had to sneak out, breaking the Master's rules, because of the wolves that were there.
Encounter in the Moonlight
Finally, under the moonlight, Dana found the unicorn but soon lost its trail. A wolf pack headed towards her. The Master, who was watching everything, told Fenris to help her, risking his life.
Echoes of the Past
Not long after, images of that fateful night when the wolves attacked still haunted Dana. That was when she truly remembered what had happened in the forest [with Kai]. She went to Fenris, hoping his help could allow her to revisit that night, but he refused.
Secrets Revealed
After a long afternoon, the elf [Fenris] decided to go with her, almost revealing Kai's secret. But Dana already knew that Kai was a ghost and had died many years ago. Fenris also revealed that on a full moon night, he turned into a wolf and could control the other wolves in the pack.
The Ghost and the Wolf
Dana and Kai hid in a hut belonging to Fenris's wolves. Fenris, of course, was not with them because he had become one of the wolves.
The Master's Deception
They found a trapdoor in the floor. Falling through, they found the unicorn at the bottom of a well. It could only be seen by those it chose. Suddenly, the Master entered the room and locked Dana and Fenris in a cell where magic could not escape. That's when Dana realized that the Master intended to use the unicorn to get to its treasure.
The Unicorn's Hiding Place
Dana contacted Aoni, the woman who had so often appeared to her. She understood that Aoni was the portal between two worlds: life and death. Aoni entered the body of Maritta, the tower cook, to take revenge on the Master.
Alliance and Confrontation
Dana, Fenris, and Maritta (inhabited by Aoni) fought against the Master. Dana and Fenris ruled the tower after breaking the curse of the Valley of the Wolves.
