Understanding Visual Disability

To better comprehend visual disability, it's important to distinguish between related concepts:

  • Deficiency

A loss or abnormality of psychological, physiological, or anatomical structure or function. Example: An alteration of the cornea.

  • Disability

A restriction or inability to perform an activity in the manner or within the range considered normal for a human being. Example: Difficulty distinguishing colors or judging the distance of objects.

  • Handicap

A disadvantage for a given individual, resulting from a deficiency or disability, that limits or prevents the fulfillment of a role that is normal (depending on age, sex, social and cultural factors) for that individual. Example: Being blind in a society not adapted for

Effective Teaching Methods in Physical Education

Methodology in Physical Education

Methodology refers to the way in which we will implement instruction to achieve specific goals. The methods must be adapted to the age, interests, and abilities of students.

Synthetic or Global Method

We teach the exercises in full. This method is suitable for very easy exercises that involve the entire movement, typically for children aged 6-7 years.

Advantages:

  • The whole body is involved, making it easily understood.
  • The child acts more freely.
  • In sports, it allows for a comprehensive understanding of the movements.
  • The child is less bored.

Disadvantages:

  • Techniques are not readily available.
  • Correcting defects can be difficult later on.

Analytical or By-Parts Method

The exercise is performed in parts. This method is...

Volleyball Regulations

Player Placement Rules

  • Rotation: Teams rotate positions clockwise after winning the serve following a point scored by the opponent.
  • Positions: Front-row players (attackers) occupy zones 2, 3, and 4. Back-row players (defenders) occupy zones 5, 6, and 1.

Ball Handling Rules

Sprint Stride Phases and Ground Contact

Ground Contact (Heel Strike, Amortization, Toe Off)

During ground contact, the foot should strike with weight on the ball of the feet. The strike leg should aggressively straighten down and underneath the body to the ground contact point.

Recovery (Leg Extension, Forward Swing, Foot Descent)

The strike leg should aggressively extend, and the forward swing should follow while the other leg is going through contact. The recovery leg should follow a path straight up toward the buttock, the knee should rise, and the thigh should be parallel to the ground. The foot should drop below the knee, making the knee at a 90-degree angle.

Sprint Acceleration and Maximum Velocity Distances

Many field sport athletes can attain...

Human Anatomy: Planes, Axes, Skeleton, and Muscles

Sport and physical education3.91 KB

ANNEX I: Structural Elements of Movement

For the study of motion within the mechanical dimension, it is referenced to a series of axes and body planes.

In EF, the plan is a representation of a flat (two-dimensional) image that passes through the body in its anatomical position (in bipedal stance with palms forward). The plans may be classified as:

  • Sagittal Plane: Divides the body in an anteroposterior direction along the midline into two equal parts, right and left.
  • Frontal Plane: Divides the body in the lateral direction into two parts, the facial and anterior or posterior or dorsal.
  • Horizontal or Transverse Plane: Divides the body into two halves, upper or lower or cephalic and caudal.

An axis is defined as an imaginary line that passes through

Training System Classifications and Methodologies

Sport and physical education3.34 KB

Classification of Training Systems

Training systems are broadly categorized into natural systems and artificial (or structured) systems. Natural systems refer to those that occur organically in nature. Artificial systems, on the other hand, require specific characteristics, structured environments, and are often divided by various components or phases.

General Classification Adopted

The general classification we will adopt includes:

  • Continuous Systems: Performed without pause.
  • Fractional Systems: Characterized by dividing the training load into parts, separated by recovery breaks.
  • Mixed Systems: Incorporate characteristics from both continuous and fractional approaches.

Continuous Systems

In principle, continuous system training is exemplified by continuous
