Environmental Pollution and Contamination

Contamination

I'm Nerea and I'm going to talk about contamination.

The pollution on our planet has existed for a long time. This is largely because we have not learned to respect the environment, and we have damaged it in many different ways.

It is true that in the past there was not as much pollution: factories were fewer, and many modern products and vehicles—cars, aerosols, and similar items—have increased pollution to the present day.

When I was a child, I was not aware of what contaminates the atmosphere. Now I invite you to consider that taking care of the atmosphere is vital to preserve life—ours and other beings'—in good health and harmony.

Cervantes' Masterpiece: Don Quixote Literary Analysis

English3.08 KB

Publication History and the Fake Edition

The edition is published in two parts. The first consists of 52 chapters divided into four parts. The second was published ten years later with 72 chapters. It is remarkable that a fake edition by Alonso Fernández de Avellaneda insulted Cervantes, who responded directly in the prologue of the second part of his book.

Literary Sources and Inspiration

Regarding sources, the work draws from all types of Renaissance novels. Specifically, "The Interlude of Romance" provided the idea of a farmer who went mad from reading too much. Some critics argue that the work serves primarily as a criticism of the books of chivalry.

Narrative Structure and the Three Outings

The structure of the main action takes place across...

Comparing Personalities: Me and Daniel

English1.16 KB

Comparison Between Myself and Daniel

In class, I chose Daniel, and we conducted a comparison between us. Daniel and I are similar in some ways and different in others.

Similarities

My friend and I are similar in two aspects:

  1. Firstly, both like to relax alone or with a few close friends. When I am alone, I can choose what I want to do.
  2. Secondly, Daniel thinks very carefully about what he says because he always wants the other person to understand him very well, and so do I.

Differences

My friend and I are different in two aspects:

  • Firstly, Daniel enjoys talking with people because he is talkative. Whereas I talk with people much less because I prefer to be a listener.
  • Secondly, I enjoy being in public places because I feel happy and relaxed in those

Frankenstein: Analyzing the Monster and Victor's Parallels

English2.19 KB

The Monster's Eloquence and Cinematic Portrayals

Does the monster’s eloquence and persuasiveness make it easier for the reader to sympathize with him? Why do you think most film versions of the story present the monster as mute or inarticulate?

From my point of view, the monster seems to be very smart, as he learns how to speak and read in his attempt to gain Victor's attention by watching a family of peasants. I think he is portrayed as mute in most films because of how he is abandoned and rejected—not only by Victor but also by society—never having the chance to communicate with anyone, as he is rejected due to his grotesque appearance.

Parallels Between Victor and the Monster

Trace the similarities between Victor and the monster. Consider...

Letter About My Upcoming Canada Trip

Dear Michel,

I'm writing to inform you that next summer I will travel to Canada and I will be there for approximately two months. I know that we have not had contact for a while, but taking advantage of the fact that I have a vacation, I would like to go and visit you and, in the meantime, get to know all the beautiful places that Canada has.

I don't know anything about Canada yet. I would like to see interesting places, famous museums, historical and old sites with a lot of history. I also think a lot about what the people there will be like, because we Spaniards are quite extroverted people, and I'm afraid that people there might not be the same.

Finally, I have another question regarding money. Here in Spain,...

Formal Complaint Letter: Soccer Cleats Issue

My Address/Date/Recipient Address

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have recently ordered a new pair of soccer cleats from your website on June 21. I received the order on June 26. Unfortunately, when I opened it, I saw that the cleats were used. The cleats had dirt all over them, and there was a small tear in front of the part where the left toe would go. My order number is A2342D3.

To resolve the problem, I would like you to credit my account for the amount charged for my cleats. I have already gone out and bought a new pair of cleats at my local sporting goods store, so sending another pair would result in me having two pairs of the same cleats.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I have been a satisfied...
