Effective Communication: Language Registers, Grammar, and Rhyme

Electronics3.19 KB

Talk: Spontaneous Verbal Exchanges

Spontaneous succession of verbal exchanges where sender and receiver roles alternate.

Linguistic Registers

Adaptations of the use of language to the communicative situation.

Types

  • Formal: lexical richness and syntactic accuracy.
  • Colloquial: average level in daily communication.
  • Vulgar: improprieties of any kind and slang; low cultural level.

Communicating Effectively

  • Make your contribution as informative as requested, but no more.
  • I believe only what is true.
  • Provide only information that is supported by the case.
  • Be clear, orderly, and precise.

The Comma

The comma marks a brief pause and can separate different sentences or elements within the same sentence.

Use:

  • To separate different terms in an enumeration.
  • To separate sentence

Understanding Digital Audio: Key Concepts and Terminology

Key Digital Audio Concepts Explained

Frequency

The number of vibrations per second that gives rise to analog sound. The sound spectrum is characterized by its frequency range, which is measured in Hertz (Hz). The human ear picks up only those sounds within the frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz.

Sampling Rate (Sample Rate)

Digital audio is a sequence of zeros and ones obtained by sampling an analog signal. The sampling rate, or sample rate, defines how often the value of the analog signal is taken to generate digital audio. This rate is measured in Hertz (Hz). For example, 44,100 Hz indicates that in one second, 44,100 samples were taken from the analog audio signal to create the corresponding digital audio. Higher-quality audio will have a...

Rhetorical Devices and Literary Figures

Sound and Repetition Figures

  • Alliteration: The repetition of sounds in two or more words.
  • Onomatopoeia: Used in poetry and comics, this is the reproduction of natural sounds (e.g., "toc toc").
  • Paronomasia: The use of words that sound similar but have different meanings (e.g., "notary" is a "notorious" example).
  • Anaphora: Two or more lines that begin the same way (e.g., "Because he was banished, because he ran out of bird flight").
  • Epanadiplosis: A repetition where a line begins and ends with the same word (e.g., "Green, I want you green").
  • Pun (Calambur): A play on sounds where changes in sound logically alter the meaning of the words (e.g., "make dice counties").

Syntactic and Structural Figures

  • Asyndeton: The

Genetika: DNA, geni, kromosomi, mutacije in sinteza beljakovin

Electronics6.25 KB

Genetika: osnovni pojmi

Genom = vse informacije organizma zapisane v DNA.

Gen = odsek DNA, ki se prepiše v m-RNA in nato v beljakovino.

Kromosomi = DNA + beljakovina.

Velikost kromosomov = število baznih parov.

Nukleinske kisline

Nukleinske kisline so shramba dednega zapisa, prenos DNA in nadzor beljakovin ter s tem nadzor življenjskih procesov. Gre za makromolekule iz nukleotidov, ki tvorijo polinukleotidno verigo.

Nukleotid sestavljajo: fosfat (PO4) + sladkor (pentoza) + dušikova baza.

  • DNA: adenin, timin, gvanin, citozin
  • RNA: adenin, citozin, gvanin, uracil

Nasprotna veriga je antiparalelna in komplementarna. Verigi se povezujeta med nukleotidoma s komplementarnima bazama (A–T, G–C).

Vrste RNA

RNA so ribosomska (rRNA), obveščevalna (mRNA),...
