Thoughts, Careers, and Correspondence
Clothing and Perceptions
People often believe that clothing influences a person's character or behavior. They may judge others based on their attire, perceiving certain styles as negative or aggressive. This mindset needs to change. Individuals should have the freedom to express themselves through clothing without facing judgment or prejudice. While progress is being made, there's still work to be done to create a society where people aren't unfairly judged based on their appearance. No one has the right to dictate another person's clothing choices.
Career Choices
While I've always enjoyed computer science and recognize its potential for a stable career, I sometimes find it tedious. Although I enjoy using computers, I'm uncertain if it's a lifelong passion. Aviation, on the other hand, has always captivated me. The sight of planes taking off and landing is mesmerizing. However, pursuing a career in aviation is financially prohibitive. Therefore, I'll likely pursue computer engineering, given my aptitude and the promising job market.
The Smoking Ban Debate
The ban on smoking in public places across Europe over the past two decades has sparked strong opinions. Smokers argue that the ban infringes upon their personal freedom, asserting their right to smoke wherever they choose. They contend that smoking is no more harmful than drinking. Conversely, non-smokers generally support the ban, appreciating smoke-free environments in restaurants and other public spaces. Doctors also emphasize the public health benefits of the ban. Personally, I believe the ban is beneficial. Smokers can still enjoy their cigarettes outdoors.
A Letter to Mr. Leaf
Dear Mr. Leaf,
Thank you for your generous contributions to our Little League baseball team. Your sponsorship last season enabled us to purchase ten new uniforms and essential equipment.
Next month, our company will host an employee appreciation pancake breakfast to honor both retired and current employees for their dedicated service, especially during these challenging economic times.
We would like to order 25 pounds of pancake mix and five gallons of maple syrup from your company. We hope you can fulfill this bulk order.
As a valued corporate sponsor and long-time associate, we'd be delighted if you could join us for breakfast on December 12, 2016.
Respectfully yours,
Derek Jeter
