University Institutions and Regulations

Universities are higher education institutions composed of scientific, technical, and moral professionals. They serve as active research centers that contribute to science and culture in general. The University Act 23,733 (December 1983) and the University Status document regulate the organization and functioning of the university, its government, functions, duties, and the rights of its members.

Methodology and Objectives of Study

The methodology of work in a university involves using various means and procedures to achieve the institution's vision and mission. The Study is the process that enables the student to learn new things. Its objectives include:

  • The acquisition of knowledge in one or more disciplines of human knowledge or practice.
  • The use of such knowledge to solve the problems of life.

Phases and Conditions of Study

The phases of the study include learning, retention and recall, development and integration, and implementation. Successful study depends on several conditions: biological, psychological, social, environmental, and pedagogical.

Endogenous and Exogenous Factors

Endogenous factors and objectives include motivation, enthusiasm, serenity, goals, concentration, determination, perseverance, understanding, memory, and forgetting. Exogenous factors include sleep (dream), food, lighting, exercises, ventilation, temperature, required position, hours, and stationery.

Understanding Learning and Cognition

To learn as discussed means knowing how to think, observe, concentrate, organize, and analyze; in a word, to be mentally efficient. Learning is the appropriation of information entered into the mind to process (think) and transform it into meanings or knowledge to solve problems.

Core Learning Processes

  • Cognitive processes (Language): Perception, memory, attention (care), and thinking.
  • Affective processes (Attitude): Motivations, feelings, emotions, and passions.
  • Motor processes (Creativity): Skills and building skills.

Effects and Styles of Learning

The effects of learning include mental growth, rearranging the personality, almost permanent changes, and problem-solving. Learning styles dictate how information is gathered, processed, and implemented, such as the Kolb model (acting, thinking, theorizing, and experimenting).

Effective Study Techniques and Knowledge

Knowledge is an organized set of data and information that can solve a given problem or assist in a decision. The Echegaray Method (2L2S2R) involves fast reading, slow reading, underlining, synthesis, reciting, and reviewing.

Study Techniques and Group Dynamics

Study techniques are a set of tools, primarily logical strategies, that help improve performance and facilitate the process of memorization and study. The study process involves understanding, reading, and memorizing. Technical group techniques are systematic procedures or means which serve to organize and develop a group activity.

Group Techniques and Memory Functions

Group techniques foster creativity, teamwork, team spirit, interactivity, autonomy, diversification, the sharing of expertise, and empathy. Finally, memory is the essential process by which we encode, store, and retrieve information.
