Foundational Principles of Effective Sports Training and Athletic Development

Sport and physical education2.73 KB

Overload Principle

For training to have positive effects and cause appropriate physiological adaptations, it is necessary that the intensity of the workload exceeds a minimum level, often referred to as the threshold.

Principle of Progression

The work performed must be raised gradually. If you always train at the same level, the body adapts to that effort and ceases to undergo further physiological adaptations.

Variety in Training

If you consistently perform the same technical and physical exercises, you risk falling into monotony and boredom, leading to stagnation in improvement. To overcome this problem, trainers should apply a wide range of varied exercises.

Supercompensation and Recovery

Work and rest are closely linked in training. A specific...

Essential Basketball Techniques and Player Roles

Sport and physical education3.51 KB

Triple-Threat Position

In the triple-threat position, the player is placed in an attack stance: feet apart in line with the shoulders, shooting hand forward, knees half-bent, body leaning forward, head up to maintain court vision; the ball is held between the waist and chest.

Shooting Fundamentals

Features of a Good Shot

  • Softness: The ball is not launched at high speed to facilitate accuracy and prevent it from bouncing too far from the rim.
  • Backspin: The ball has a backspin produced by the fingers.
  • Trajectory: The ball's trajectory should be a parabola of average height.

Types of Shots

Layup (Tray Shot)

The layup is executed with the hand farthest from the defender. If near the rim, the palm faces up; if further away, it faces down to provide greater...

Basketball Court Dimensions and Game Rules Essentials

Sport and physical education12.85 KB

The track
The court must take official measures 24 to 28 meters long and 13 to 15 meters wide. The marked lines are as follows: The inner circle of 3'60 meters in diameter, and the free throw line which is parallel to the baseline.
Untitled

The boat:
The ball is received with both hands, fingers open and toes clinging to the inside.

Pass:
This technique was used to relate the players during the offensive plays.

Tactic
Players are identified mainly by a tactical role in the field. The management of the players is the proximity or remoteness of the ring and from low to high stature: the base, the guard, forward, the low post and high post. It is customary to number the following numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Duration of a match:
The length of a basketball

Principles of Training and Physical Adaptation Mechanisms

Sport and physical education3.15 KB

Core Principles of Effective Physical Training

Understanding these fundamental principles is crucial for maximizing results and ensuring safe, sustainable fitness development.

Principle of Individuality

Training must take into account the particular characteristics of each person, such as age, sex, and current physical fitness (CF base).

Principle of Progression

Physical condition will not improve if the body becomes accustomed to the effort. We must gradually increase the load (e.g., increasing weight, repetitions, speed, or distance) to continue adapting.

Overload Principle

To improve, we must use weights, distances, speeds, or repetitions that involve overload and force an extra effort. Avoid comfort, as improvement requires challenging the system.

Neonatal Primitive Reflexes: Assessment and Integration Milestones

Sport and physical education5.6 KB

Understanding Primitive Reflexes in the Newborn

Primitive reflexes in the newborn (NB) are stereotyped, involuntary responses that reveal the priority of focal subcortical centers governing tone and movement during the transitional state of cortical immaturity. Most of these reflexes (normal reflexes) are present in the NB and disappear spontaneously as the Central Nervous System (CNS) matures. Their integration is fundamental for the development of voluntary, active, and functional mobility, usually occurring during the first year of life.

Suckling Reflex

Procedure: When the baby is relaxed and supine, the index finger is introduced slightly between their lips.
Response: An automated suction response is elicited.
Integration: This reflex typically...

Optimizing Physical Performance: Principles and Training Methods

General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS) and Supercompensation

The body's response to stress, such as physical exercise, follows a predictable pattern known as the General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS). This process involves a series of reactions designed to overcome fatigue and adapt to a higher level of equilibrium.

Phases of General Adaptation Syndrome

  • Alarm Phase: The initial reaction to a new or increased stressor, causing an imbalance in the body.
  • Resistance Phase: The body attempts to adapt and cope with the stressor, leading to improved function.
  • Exhaustion Phase: If the stress is too prolonged or intense, the body's resources become depleted, leading to fatigue and potential decline in performance.

The Supercompensation Phenomenon

Following the resistance...

Handball Learning Assessment: A 10-Step Framework

Sport and physical education2.98 KB

Step 1: Identifying Learning Gaps and Initial Decisions

During the Handball Unit (UD), the teacher notices that a group of students have failed to achieve the initial objectives. To reinforce their learning, the teacher decides to implement more specific alternative activities. This also serves to evaluate the evolution of these students.

Step 2: Defining Key Assessment Data

The teacher considers it necessary to collect information on technical and tactical aspects of handball, as well as behaviors established between peers. This includes assessing if a student can dribble with one hand, perform a suspension shot, identify common mistakes, or show consideration for teammates. This collection will serve to inform about the students' evolution.

Step

Optimizing Physical Preparation: Warm-up and Stretching Protocols

Sport and physical education4.04 KB

Warm-up (L'Escalfament)

Definition and Purpose

The warm-up is a set of activities held before any physical activity. It helps the individual prepare physically and psychologically, avoiding the risk of injuries by increasing body temperature. The warm-up is personal and depends on the efforts being made later.

Phases of Warm-up

General Warm-up

The organism simplifies everything to a low intensity (e.g., 5 min run, 40/60% maximal effort). Progressively increase body temperature and mobilize all body segments. Intensity increases during the running phase.

Specific Warm-up

Mobilize and prepare only the muscles used in the next activity. We try to perform movements that mimic the techniques of the main activity.

Considerations for Effective Warm-up

Vehicle Body Repair Bench Techniques

Sport and physical education2.95 KB

Features of Repair Benches

  • Stiffness: Ability to withstand efforts.
  • Versatility: Capacity for adaptation.
  • Durability: Capacity to last.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to different tools or accessories.
  • Simplicity: Simplicity of the bed.

Types of Repair Benches

  • Mini-benches
  • Folding benches
  • Fixed benches with ground elevator
  • Benches for trucks
  • Benches for truck cabs

Diagnosing Vehicle Damage

After receiving the vehicle, a visual inspection will be performed to determine if the repair can be made on the repair bench. Check the symmetries of the front and back over the roof and sides, and the back and front. Monitor the underside of the vehicle chassis for damage. Check for play and mismatches between the doors, front and rear fenders, front doors and the...
