Psychoanalytic Concepts: Drives, Mirror Stage, Identity

The Underpinnings of the Drive

If self-talk alone were enough to move us to survive, it would be the sexual drive, which is mounted on the gregarious instinct, forming self-preservation. This drive would then seek another. Sexuality in us is open to the world; the libido is what makes us feel sympathy or apathy towards another. The mother creates a kind of map through which desire travels in the newborn. When it goes beyond mere need, the baby can perceive a creature of altered demand. Need in us would be equivalent to instinct, but in humans, it is very rudimentary and insufficient.

The Mirror Stage: Image and Self-Formation

Spanish Baroque Theater and Punctuation Rules

Language and literature2.78 KB

Characteristics of Spanish Baroque Theater

  • Combines tragic and comic elements.
  • Shows little respect for the rule of three unities (action, time, space).
  • Characters are often simple archetypes: protagonist, antagonist, lover, servant, comic relief, etc.
  • The main plot is driven by love and honor, closely linked. In Baroque theater, characters may kill to defend their honor, considered a person's greatest asset—individually, within the family, and in society.
  • Follows a simple three-act structure (beginning, middle, and end).
  • Employs stanzas of verse.
  • Performances were accompanied by music and dance.
  • Features a wide variety of themes: love, religion, history, legends, etc.

Capitalization Rules

  • Names, surnames, nicknames, and aliases are capitalized.

What is Software Testing?

At its core, Software Testing is the process of evaluating and verifying that a software application or system does what it is supposed to do. It involves executing a system or its components using manual or automated tools to find bugs, errors, gaps, or missing requirements against the actual expectations. It bridges the gap between what the developers thought they were building and what the users actually need.

Objectives of Software Testing

Testing is not just about finding bugs right before a product launches. It has several distinct, strategic objectives throughout the development lifecycle:

  • Finding Defects and Vulnerabilities: The most immediate goal is to uncover hidden flaws, coding errors, and security vulnerabilities
