Character Reference: Mary

Hi Catherine,

Thanks for your email. Of course, I can tell you about Mary. She is 17 and finishing her secondary school studies. She is currently in her second year of Bachillerato and aspires to study medicine.

In my opinion, Mary is a wonderful person who is always concerned about others. She is keen on cooking and prepares many delicious dishes, such as roast chicken, baked potatoes, and paella.

She is great with children, as she has two younger sisters and looks after them while her parents are working. She is also hard-working and an excellent student, which makes her very responsible.

She enjoys going out, the cinema, and shopping. At home, she does her homework, watches TV, helps her mother, and listens to Spanish...

Literary Techniques and Symbolism in In Cold Blood

English2.12 KB

Literary Devices and Symbolism

Irony and Foreshadowing

Irony permeates Capote’s narrative, particularly in the portrayal of Nancy Clutter’s life and dreams. Her discussions about a horror movie on the night of her murder serve as a cruel foreshadowing of the real horror that would soon befall her (Page 18). Capote uses these moments to underscore the tragic fragility of life and the unpredictability of violence.

Symbolism of Nature and Setting

The Kansas landscape plays a symbolic role in the novel, reflecting both the isolation of the Clutter family and the intrusion of violence. The description of Holcomb as a quiet, uneventful place at the beginning and end of the novel (First and Last Page) emphasizes the cyclical nature of violence and...

Societal Trends: Spanish Living, Travel, and Health

English2.59 KB

Young Adults Living with Parents in Spain

In Spain, many young adults in their late twenties still live with their parents. In my opinion, this happens mainly because of economic challenges and family traditions.

Firstly, it is difficult for young people to find a stable job. Many of them are unemployed or earn very little money. Also, rent prices are very high, so living alone is not easy. Because of this, they prefer to stay at home. Secondly, family is very important in Spanish culture. Families are usually close, and it is normal to live together for a long time. There is not much pressure to leave home early.

In conclusion, although some young people want to be independent, economic problems and family values make them stay with their parents...

Personal Views: Spain, Sports Motivation, and Space Travel Aspirations

English3.4 KB

Why I Choose to Study in Spain

Many people aspire to study in another country, but for me, it wouldn’t be the best option. I have several reasons for preferring to stay in Spain:

  • Language Barrier: I struggle with learning new languages. Living and studying in another language environment would be incredibly difficult and stressful for me.
  • Love for Spain: I already love living here. Spain is a beautiful country with a great climate, delicious food, and friendly people.

I feel comfortable and settled here and believe I can achieve a high-quality education without needing to leave. While studying abroad is a great experience for some, staying in Spain is the right choice for me. Spain truly has everything I need.

The Importance of Financial Prizes
