Delphi Programming: Strings, Parameters, and Functions

Computer science2.37 KB

1. Understanding Short and Long Strings

Short strings have a fixed length, not exceeding 245 characters. They are declared as follows:

  • VAR S1: ShortString;
  • VAR S2: STRING[25];

Long strings are allocated dynamically and are limited only by available memory. They are declared as:

  • VAR S1: STRING;

2. What Are Parameters?

A parameter is a value passed to a function or procedure to be processed.

3. Parameter Passing: Value vs. Reference

Passing by Value: A copy of the original variable is created; the original value remains unchanged.

Passing by Reference: No copy is created; the procedure works directly with the original variable.

  • Value: PROCEDURE REVIEW(NAME: STRING);
  • Reference: PROCEDURE REVIEW(VAR NAME: STRING);

4. Functions vs. Procedures

  • Function: A code

Palindrome Checker in C Using Stacks and Queues

Computer science4.23 KB

C Program Implementation for Palindrome Checking

This program demonstrates how to utilize Stacks and Queues to determine if a specific word is a palindrome. By leveraging dynamic memory allocation and linked list structures, the code compares characters in both forward and reverse order.

Header Files and Structure Definitions

First, we include the necessary libraries for standard input/output, memory management, and string manipulation. We define the nodop, node, and nodoPILA structures to manage our data.

#include <stdlib.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <conio.h>
#include <string.h>

struct nodop {
    char palabra[15];
};

struct node {
    struct nodop pal;
    struct node *next;
};

typedef struct node *COLA;

ABAP Fundamentals: Key Concepts and Technical Q&A

Review essential knowledge points covering ABAP syntax, data structures, system fields, and event processing.

  1. Client Dependency in ABAP Dictionary Tables

    If a table does not have MANDT as part of the primary key, it is:

    Client-independent

  2. Invalid ABAP CALL Statement

    In regard to CALL, which of the following is NOT a valid statement?

    CALL PROGRAM

  3. Characteristics of Transparent Tables

    Name the type of ABAP Dictionary table that has these characteristics:

    • Same number of fields as the database table
    • Same name as the database table
    • Maps 1:1 to the database table

    Transparent Table

  4. ABAP Event Structure

    An event starts with an event keyword and ends with:

    Another event keyword

  5. System Field for Current Date

Operating Systems Kernel, Processes, Sockets, Pipes and Signals Explained

Computer science3.77 KB

Kernel Fundamentals

Kernel = FLIH (interrupt controller) + dispatcher + communication, synchronization and mutual exclusion.

Process States

States: Ready, Running, Blocked

Transitions:

  • Creation → Ready (OS creates it)
  • Ready → Running (dispatcher gives it the CPU)
  • Running → Ready (time slice ends)
  • Running → Blocked (waits for I/O)
  • Blocked → Ready (awaited event happens)
  • Running → Finished

Process Control Block (PCB)

PCB: PID, state, context (PC, flags, general registers, memory access registers) + scheduling info (priority).

Interrupt Handling

FLIH: store context → find which device interrupted (poll devices by priority) → run ISR.

Chain: hardware stores PC → FLIH → ISR → dispatcher

The Dispatcher

Dispatcher: called after an interrupt changes...

Express.js Routing and CRUD API for Student Management

Computer science2.83 KB

Express.js Routing Basics

The first example sets up a simple Express.js server with static routes, a dynamic route, and a 404 handler.

const express = require('express');
const app = express();

// Route 1
app.get('/', (req, res) => {
  res.send('Home Page');
});

// Route 2
app.get('/about', (req, res) => {
  res.send('About Page');
});

// Route 3: Dynamic route
app.get('/users/:id', (req, res) => {
  res.send(`User ID: ${req.params.id}`);
});

// 404 handler: Keep it last
app.use((req, res) => {
  res.status(404).send('404 - Page Not Found');
});

app.listen(3000, () => {
  console.log('Server running on port 3000');
});

Building a RESTful Student API

The second example implements a RESTful API for managing students, supporting...

Text Files vs Binary Files and C++ File Opening Modes

Computer science3.81 KB

1. Compare text files and binary files with respect to storage, processing speed, memory utilization, and applications.

Comparison Between Text Files and Binary Files

BasisText FilesBinary Files
StorageData is stored as characters (ASCII/Unicode). Numbers are stored in readable form.Data is stored in binary (0s and 1s) in the format used by the computer.
Processing SpeedGenerally slower because data may need to be converted between characters and internal formats.Generally faster because data can be read/written in its native binary format.
Memory UtilizationUsually requires more storage space, especially for numerical data.Usually requires less storage space because data is stored more compactly.
ReadabilityHuman-readable; can be opened with Notepad

MFC Metafile Operations

Metafile Handling: HENHMETAFILE fork; ENHMETAHEADER forkHeader; Constructor: fork = GetEnhMetaFile(_T("viljuska.emf"));

If the fork is not null:

}

Destructor:

if (met)

Dimensions and Playback:

int w = forkHeader.rclBounds.right;
int h = forkHeader.rclBounds.bottom;
pDC->PlayMetaFile(fork, CRect(0, 0, w, h));

Saving Metafiles:

ONSAVE()
