Transport Modes, Concrete Techniques & Biotechnology Applications
Ground Transportation
Ground transportation is the means of transport that is carried on or within the Earth's crust. Most land transport is carried out smoothly. Currently land transport is used mostly because it is faster to travel on roads, but it also pollutes.
Air Transport
Air transport is the service to move passengers or cargo from one place to another using aircraft, typically for profit. Air transport is provided for commercial purposes. For military purposes, it is included in logistics activities.
Shipping
Shipping is the action of bringing people (passengers) or things (heavy solids or liquids) by sea from one geographical location to another on board a ship for profit.
Reinforced Concrete
- A formwork frame serves as a template for the future beam.
- Inside the mold are steel rods and poured concrete.
- Once this has hardened, remove the boards; the concrete pillar is formed.
Prefabricated Structures
Prefabricated structures require a high degree of industrialization and must meet certain requirements, namely:
- Construction of the pieces must be carried out very carefully.
- Fasteners vary and are obtained from industry catalogs (hardware, elastic elements, etc.).
- Mounting tolerances must be tight and finely tuned.
- Assembly is quick and clean, offering many aesthetic and functional possibilities.
Biotechnology
Biotechnology comprises the methods, procedures, and techniques that use living organisms such as cells, viruses, bacteria, yeasts, or parts of them.
They are used to create new products, transform organisms, conduct scientific research, and detect disease.
The earliest biotechnological process was fermentation.
It was developed by the Egyptians, Chinese, and Babylonians.
Fermentable materials used to produce fuel are: soybean oil, palm oil, rapeseed oil.
There are political and economic decisions that actually determine what to do with them.
The University of Granada is working to improve durum wheat.
The goal is to be able to grow stronger plants that tolerate more adverse environmental situations.
For this technique, DNA extraction was used.
Genes from other plants are taken, assembled, and implanted into the rice genome.
