Realms of Imagination and Reality: A Narrative Collection
World Daily
In early July 1850, a young man, aged 22 or 23, walked through the front door of a beautiful house in Santiago. His suit, worn from his travels to the elegant capital, his black pants, short and narrow sleeves, oddly shaped hat, and boots fastened at the ankles, hinted at an older fashion.
Dreamworld
It was the White Rabbit again, jumping, returning slowly, and looking anxiously from side to side as if searching for something. Alice heard him muttering to himself: 'Oh, Duchess! The Duchess! By the life of my dear paws! Oh, my fur and my whiskers!'
Wonderland
Barbara woke up very early in the morning. Her father was still sleeping amidst real corals. Water bubbles caressed her lips. When she left her house, she mounted the first dolphins, who were counting the day's passages.
Mythic World
The essence of life began to sprout like spring water. The loud voices of men and songs of children were not yet heard. The sky was somewhat stifled. Mars and Venus looked so grand, and that night, Earth was alone in eclipse. A fierce wind blew, and sparks fell to the ground. It was fire, as divine as its creator, as unique as the essence of our souls.
Realistic World
'Manu! Manuelito! Mijito!' the grandfather repeated insistently, using various affectionate nicknames. 'Dress warmly! It's cold outside,' he said, holding a green waterproof jacket in his hand. The boy walked slowly toward his grandfather, put on the coat, and then stepped into the bathroom where he wet some of his hair before leaving. Wetting his black curls that covered his head. He opened the front door, paused a moment, thought, and then ran to embrace the old man. From his mouth sprang the words, 'I love you,' followed by a kiss that sealed the child's gesture.
Fantastic World
Isidora rested in her room, lying on her soft bed, which smelled of fresh-scented lotion. She heard distant voices of her brothers playing in the courtyard. Her sweet and small thoughts ignited the dreams that rose in her head. But she could not sleep; the pressure of the math test made her uneasy. She had only had a short break before further study. As she tried to get out of bed, she felt a piercing pain that irritated her. Her body dropped again onto the blankets that covered the bed. Opening her red eyelids again, she found herself playing with her brothers, running behind an imaginary ball. Then her mother came into her bedroom to wake her from that dream. Isidora cried out in desperation, hugged her mother, and then ran into the courtyard. There, she was surprised to find herself playing with the kids. Faint and frightened, she closed her eyes again, this time to play in the clouds.
