First of all, advertising plays a very important role in consumer decisions. Every day, people see hundreds of advertisements on television, YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok. These advertisements are carefully designed to make consumers feel happy, modern, or successful when they buy a product.

For example, many famous influencers promote clothes, cosmetics, or technology products online. Young people, especially, are influenced by these personalities because they admire their lifestyle. As a result, they often buy expensive products simply because they are fashionable or popular, even if there are cheaper products with the same quality.

Building Emotional Connections with Brands

Another important factor is the way companies create emotional connections with consumers. Many brands try to make people feel special or unique when they buy their products. For example, some mobile phone companies present their products as symbols of success and modern life. Because of this, consumers sometimes pay much more money for a famous brand instead of choosing a similar but less popular product. In this situation, psychology clearly has a stronger influence than product quality.

In addition, supermarkets and online shops use psychological tricks to increase sales. These techniques include:

However, product quality is still important in some cases. When people buy high-stakes items, they usually act more cautiously:

In conclusion, although product quality is important, I believe modern consumers are more influenced by psychology. Advertising, social media, and marketing strategies affect people’s emotions and decisions every day. As a result, many consumers choose products because of emotions, trends, or social pressure instead of focusing only on quality.
