Hospital Patient Variable Coding and Field Definitions
This document lists corrected and standardized variable coding entries. Spelling, grammar, and capitalization have been corrected without removing any original content. Field lengths and annex references are preserved.
Variable Coding List
- 1 - The eleventh variable is coded as the NECESSARY CMBD. Codify this variable for a patient in the hospital who enters the waiting list from surgery (LEQ). 1-digit text field.
- 2 - The variable is coded as PROC_HK. Codify and use the annex to record this variable for a patient admitted to Virgen del Rocío from H. H. Infanta Elena. 5-digit text field. Annex 4 or 5. 02036
- 3 - The variable is coded as AFILSS. 12-digit text field.
- 4 - The variable is coded as HOSPITAL. Use the annex to code this variable for a patient admitted to H. Juan Ramón Jiménez. 5-digit text field. Annex 4. 02038
- 5 - The variable coded as FECNAC (date of birth): a patient born June 24, 1995 — 24/06/1995.
- 6 - The variable is coded as SEXO. Possible values (1-digit):
- 1 = Male
- 2 = Female
- 3 = Undetermined
- 7 - The variable is coded as the patient's residence RESIDE_CCAA. Codify the CCAA where the patient resides. 5-digit text field (ZIP code).
- 8 - The variable is coded as RESIDE_K_CCAA. Use this when the patient lives in another CCAA. Annex 7 (2-digit).
- 9 - The variable is coded to indicate if the patient resides in another country. Codify Senegalese as international code 53 + country code (Appendix 6). Example: 53239.
- 10 - Use the variable OCUPACION as coded in the annex where found. Code: CON_94. Annex 8.
- 11 - The variable is coded as FECING. Codify the admission date for a patient admitted on March 3, 2006. 8-digit text field: 03/03/2006.
- 12 - The variable is coded as REGFIN. What is the final registry for a patient admitted by traffic accident. 1-digit text field: 2.
- 13 - For the consolidated FECING variable, field values can contain (1 digit):
- 1 = Urgent
- 2 = Scheduled
- 14 - Use the annex to code the SERVICIO of a patient admitted under the Neurology service. 5-digit text field. Annex 9. 70370.
- 15 - The variable SERVALT codes the service at discharge for a patient discharged from the Rheumatology service. 5-digit text field. Annex 9. 70260.
- 16 - The variable FECALT records the discharge date for a patient discharged on 30 November 2006. 8-digit text field: 30/11/2006.
- 17 - The variable TIPALT is the type of discharge. Codify a patient transferred to a social residence and a patient who absconded from the hospital. 1-digit text field: values 3–8.
- 18 - The variable TRASH: when this variable must be codified. Codify the TRASH code for a patient taken to Hospital Rio Tinto. 5-digit text field. Applicable when TIPALT has value 2. 02039.
- 19 - The variable coded as C1 (diagnosis response and coding). Use the 6-digit DP text field. ICD-9-CM.
- 20 - How many DS (C2 to C15) can be encoded in MDS hospitalization, HDM and HDQ, hospitalization respectively: 14 (HDQ/HDM) and 4.
