Electrical Installation Standards and Regulations
Electrical Installation Requirements
Initial Regulations: Draft the first local wet electrical installation document for power installations superior to 10kW.
Cables and Voltage: Cables utilized in underground low-tension distribution shall have the assigned voltage less or superior to 0.6/1kV.
Grounding Systems (TT Scheme): Energy distribution with the neutral connected directly to ground and receptors connected to a separate earth electrode is denominated as the TT scheme.
Total Charge Calculation: The total charge in a building shall be considered in the calculation of service lines (acometidas), conductors, and link installations.
Overhead Service Lines: Aerial service lines on facades or crossing roads must maintain a minimum height of not less than 6m.
Link Installation and Meters: From the link installation schema, meter placement for a single user must align with the security of the CGP fuses.
Underground Service Lines and CGP: When the service line is underground, the CGP is installed in a standard metal box, gated and locked by the company, grooved into a firewall, established at a minimum of every 3 floors.
Meter Concentration: From the meter concentration in a building, housing must have 2 reserve tubes.
Centralized Meter Placement: Concentrated meter placements located in locals where the number of meters is superior to 16 require specific provisions.
Industrial and Sports Facilities: In sports or industrial locals, general command and protection devices shall be situated as close as possible to the entrance door.
Grounding and Potential Difference: Grounding installations in buildings must achieve an absence of dangerous potential differences across proximal ground surfaces.
Maximum Voltage Drop: The maximum voltage drop in interior house lighting circuits is restricted to 3%.
Moldings and Insulated Conductors: Moldings with insulated conductors may be installed in dry locals.
Overvoltage Causes: The rise in overvoltages in interior installations is a consequence of atmospheric discharges and network switching.
ICP Substitution: Can the ICP (Power Control Switch) be substituted? Never.
Connections and Earth Conductors: Connections of main line derivations and interior protection circuit earth conductors are executed generally using connection terminal blocks for conductors.
Emergency Lighting Power Supply: Lighting power supply shall be emergency-based with automatic short-term availability within 0.15 seconds.
Power Factor Correction: Installations feeding receptors whose power factor is minor than 1 must be compensated, bringing the power factor as close to 1 as possible.
Motor Feeders: Conductors and connections designated to feed a star motor only must handle at least 125% of the full motor load intensity.
