Trump's Rhetoric and Human Rights
Every day, Trump is the center of the news as he has started a political debate in which he has been responsible for generating controversy every time he makes public statements, not taking into account that each of these statements is an order that violates multiple human rights in many parts of the world. In his words, he said that he would "unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, that we will eradicate it from the face of the Earth." (Trump, Times).
International Relations and Global Systems
The arrival of Donald Trump to power is a challenge for international relations. His vision of a new future for the United States will redesign the international system. A system that began with the end of the Cold War and which, in general, is based on free trade, democracy, and human rights has been transformed. Through the actions of Donald Trump, which greatly affected the global landscape, tactics initially thought to be for winning the presidency have already begun to cause concerns within and outside the United States.
Social Harassment and Democratic Institutions
As time goes on, the harassment and persecution to which migrants, refugees, Latinos, Muslims, members of the LGBT community, human rights defenders, organizations, and unions are subjected is growing day by day in a worrying way. Most Americans believe that President Donald Trump has little or no respect for the country's democratic institutions (James Comey, 2014).
Attacks on Women's Rights and Healthcare
An example of the orders that have been issued in the last few days is the law that prompts states to stop funding for organizations that provide services for abortion, which means that women who do not have the resources would not receive care, leading to many deaths. Another offensive against women's rights is the decision to remove work aid, fail to guarantee equal pay, and remove protection at work in case of harassment.
Environmental Policy and the Paris Agreement
By removing its involvement in cooperating with environmental protection, the President has halted efforts to address climate change in the United States and even began operations to halt measures aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Trump relies on the decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, saying the United States "needs all forms of US energy available" or "will be at serious risk of falls and blackouts" (Trump, 2017). This measure will have serious consequences for the world, taking into account that 75% of scientists say that there is no denying the existence of climate change and that industrial models seriously affect it.
Recommendations for Climate Change Mitigation
One possible solution to Trump's decision is to consider creating departments within the government policy that are open to receiving recommendations to implement mechanisms that can reduce global warming, starting from the sectors that most affect this phenomenon.
