Developing Skills with Computers and the Internet in Youth

English2.93 KB

It is said that using computers and the internet develops important skills in young people, and that makes them more concentrated in doing different things at the same time. It seems to me that the majority of young people have more skills than the previous generation, and they are so used to hearing and investigating different kinds of electronic machines. To start with, the use of computers and the internet can improve skills like logic, reasoning, motor skills, coordination, etc. It depends on what kind of use the young people give to the computer. For instance, the young people who usually play games develop many of these skills, especially those related to coordination. Another case would be young people who use social networks; they enhance...

The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and The Reunion Review

English2.85 KB

I recently read the double-feature book The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and The Reunion. To be honest, I really loved it. Even though the books were written in the early 90s, I still found the story exciting and intense. I especially liked the dark atmosphere and how much the main characters evolve throughout the narrative.

Atmosphere and Storyline

The storyline and mood are two elements that really caught my attention. The author uses vivid imagery to describe Fell’s Church, which makes the town feel dark and ominous. There is a constant feeling that something bad could happen. The story builds to a climax at the end of The Fury, when the main character turns into a vampire. After this, the narrative becomes much more serious and emotional....

Travelling to Italy: Upsides, Downsides, and Recommendations

English3.52 KB

I'm going to speak about travelling to Italy, the first time I went to Italy was for an intercultural exchange and I made a lot of friends and got to know interesting people. I've also visited a lot of monuments and my first cities in Italy which were Modena, Firenze, and Maranello. Do you know these cities? In Maranello, you have the opportunity to visit the first Ferrari factory, and of course in Firenze, you can see a lot of monuments and you absolutely have to visit all the museums, for example, the Uffici Gallery, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful galleries all over the world, much better than other famous galleries in New York or in London. If you are a fan of art, you have to see it. I'm certain you'd like it. Even if...

Dear [MP’s Name],

The Case Against Banning Mobile Phones in Schools

We live in a world where young people are relentlessly told to “prepare for the future.” Yet, paradoxically, we are expected to do so with the very tools of that future forcibly stripped from us. I write to you not with the naive rebellion of a teenager desperate to cling to their phone, but with a plea for common sense and deeper understanding. Banning mobile phones in schools is not discipline—it is denial. Denial of how we live, how we learn, and how we connect.

Of course, I acknowledge the dangers. I have seen the hypnotic glow of screens, the fractured attention spans, and the bullying masked behind...

Roald Dahl’s Unique Literary Style

Roald Dahl is renowned for his unique style, characterized by dark humor, surprising twists, and unforgettable characters. In Taste and Other Tales, Dahl presents eight stories that highlight human weaknesses such as greed, arrogance, and revenge. Each narrative is captivating and, most notably, features shocking, unexpected endings.

Key Stories and Themes

  • Taste: Richard Pratt, a wine expert, attempts to cheat on a bet. However, a maid exposes his deception, leaving the host, Mike Schofield, deeply embarrassed. This story illustrates that people are not always what they seem.
