Java Student Management System: Core Concepts

This document presents a foundational Java program designed to manage student data. It demonstrates key Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles through a simple console-based application.

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of Java programming.
  • Familiarity with classes, objects, methods, and variables.

Core Components of the Student System

The Aluno Class: Student Data Model

The Aluno class serves as the blueprint for creating student objects. Each object encapsulates a student's name, course, and a unique registration number.

Class Attributes

  • nome (String): Stores the student's name.
  • curso (String): Stores the student's enrolled course.
  • num_matricula (int): Represents the unique registration number (RA)

Windows Popularity and Vista Features

Unit 13

Interviewer: There is no doubt that Windows has revolutionized the way we use computers today. Bill, can you explain just why it’s so popular?

Bill: Well, very simply, people find Windows very easy to use because everything is presented in graphic images. It’s also compatible with thousands of programs.

Interviewer: The big news at the moment is, of course, the launch of Windows Vista – the successor to Windows XP. I understand that there are several versions of Vista available. Could you give us some advice on which one to get?

Bill: Yes, you’re right – there are four main editions: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate.

Windows Vista Editions:

  • Home Basic: Designed for users with basic

NetApp SnapMirror Setup, Commands, and Scheduling

Computer science2.88 KB

SnapMirror (SM)

SnapMirror (SM) requires a license. It operates at the volume or qtree level, is used for disaster recovery (DR) and replication, and requires both a source and destination filer.

Synchronous SnapMirror

Synchronous SM replicates from the source to the destination nearly at the same time data is written to the source (saved to NVRAM).

Command Notes

All SnapMirror commands must be run on the destination filer, except snapmirror status, which can be run on either the source or destination.

Configuration Steps

  1. Enable SM on source & destination filer

    source-filer> options snapmirror.enable
    snapmirror.enable on
    source-filer> options snapmirror.access
    snapmirror.access legacy

  2. SnapMirror access

    Ensure the destination

Mastering Vector Drawing Tools and Basic Shapes

Computer science3.48 KB

Freeform Vector Drawing Tools

In the Toolbar, within the Vector group, you will find the tools that allow you to draw freely: the Line and Pen tools.

To use them, simply select the desired tool from the Toolbar and move the mouse to the work area. Click the mouse where you wish to start and keep the button pressed until you reach the end point.

The Line Tool

The line is the simplest vector element, as it is composed of only two points and the line that connects them.

With this tool, you can form different lines to create the desired figure. Example of Line Tool usageTo deselect a line, click in the negative area of the document. To select it again, grab the Pointer Tool from the Select group in the Toolbar. Example of selecting and deselecting a line

Using the Properties Inspector

Always remember to observe the Properties

Microsoft Access 2000: Query and Report Management

Computer science3.49 KB

Access 2000 Queries: Fundamentals

Access 2000 is not case-sensitive when searching for records.

Saving a Query

  1. To save the query, click the Save button in the dialog box. A prompt will appear to name the query.
  2. Enter the name of the query.
  3. Click the OK button.
  4. To close the query, click the Close button.

Running a Query

Queries can be run from the Query Design window or directly from the database window.

From the Database Window:

  1. Select the query to execute.
  2. Click the Open button.

From the Query Design Window:

  1. Click the Run button http://www.aulaclic.es/access2000/Boton_ejecutar_Access.gif on the toolbar.

When viewing query results, you are seeing a subset of the table that meets the specified criteria. Therefore, any data modification made here will also be applied to the related table.

Modifying Query Design

Database Queries: Selection and Action Types

Computer science2.24 KB

Database Queries

Queries are objects in a database that allow you to filter data in a table or query. They display data from a table that meet specified criteria.

Selection Queries

Selection Queries extract or show only the data that you specify. The results can be used to modify the data.

Action Queries

Action Queries make changes to records in a single operation. Types include delete, update, append, and create tables.

Creating a Selection Query

To create a select query, follow these steps:

  1. Open the database where you want to create the query.
  2. Click the Query object to the right of the database window.
  3. Click the New button in the database window.
  4. Select Design View.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. Select the table to query.
  7. Click the Add button.
  8. For queries from multiple

CPU Operations: Interrupts, I/O, DMA, and Multiprogramming

Computer science4.94 KB

Program Counter (PC) and Instruction Register (IR)

The Program Counter (PC) contains the address of the instruction to be read. The Instruction Register (IR) contains the last statement read.

Interrupts

Interrupts interrupt the normal execution of the processor. They appear mainly as a way to improve processing efficiency. Interrupts can be generated by software, clock, I/O, or hardware failure.

Disabled Interrupts

Disabled interrupts mean that the processor will ignore the interrupt signal. If an interruption occurs during that time, it generally will remain pending and will be checked by the processor after it enables interrupts.

Processor Actions

When the processor interprets the instruction and performs the action, the action can be classified...

Understanding Virtual Machines and Operating Systems

Computer science2.67 KB

Virtual machines are software that emulates a computer and can run programs like a real computer. This software was initially defined as "an efficient, isolated duplicate of a physical machine." The meaning of the term now includes virtual machines that have no direct equivalence with any actual hardware.

Understanding Shells

A shell is a piece of software that provides an interface for users. Usually, the term refers to the operating system shell that provides access to kernel services. The operating system shells generally fall into two categories according to their interface:

  • Command Line Interface (CLI)
  • Graphical User Interface (GUI)

Multiprogramming vs. Monoprogramming

Multiprogramming allows two or more processes to run in the same unit of

Data Link Layer Protocols: MAC, LLC, Token Ring, VLAN, STP Essentials

Computer science2.76 KB

Understanding the Data Link Layer

The MAC sublayer operates at the bottom of the Data Link Layer (OSI Layer 2).

MAC Sublayer: Core Functions

The Ethernet MAC sublayer has two primary responsibilities:

  • Data Encapsulation
  • Medium Access Control

Some key functions of the MAC sublayer include:

  • Controlling access to the physical medium.
  • Adding the MAC address to frames.
  • Frame delimitation (determining the beginning and end of a data frame within a string of bits received by the physical layer).
  • Performing transmission error detection.
  • Discarding duplicate or erroneous frames.

LLC Sublayer: Data Transfer and Control

The LLC (Logical Link Control) sublayer defines how data is transferred on the physical environment, providing services to higher layers. The LLC...

1. Analyzing Exhibit Information for Network Conclusions

Refer to the exhibit. Which two statements can be concluded from the information shown in the exhibit? (Choose two.)

  • All ports listed in the exhibit are access ports.
  • A router connected to the switch is required to forward traffic between hosts.

2. Router Packet Forwarding on Uplink Trunk

A router is configured to connect to an uplink trunk, as shown in the exhibit. A packet is received on the FastEthernet 0/1 physical interface from VLAN 10. The packet's destination address is 192.168.1.120. What will the router do with this packet?

  • The router will forward the packet to the FastEthernet 0/1.2 interface with VLAN tagging for 60.

3. BPDU Information Usage in Spanning Tree Protocol

For which two...
