for Kant the goodness or badness of our actions isn't in what we specifically do,but in the intention with which we do it.Is good everything that we do with goodwill.Therefore morality is the sense of duty that comes from ourself,not outside.     And according to Kant,to get the goodness in order to be happy,you need always and in every situation goodwill.And saying that a person acts with goodwill means that he/she acts for respect of duty and not only according to duty, because acting out of duty is to obey the voice of reason in us


the motive of action is the only thing that counts in morals.The motive in morals is the sense of duty and not to consequences.So act only of a maxism,a rule you would rationally want to apply to everybody you want to become universal
