Premodification in a Np
There are two types:linear and submodification
The first one shows submodification, because not all the modifiers are related to the head. They modify each other.(
realy nice flat)
The second one shows linearity because each modifier is related to the head.We can say "long hear" and "black hair"
Clauses
The first sentence is a defining
relative clause. It is defining because it appears between commas, and it refers to a specific characteristic of the noun
The second is a non-referring relative clause, because it doesn´t appear between commas, and it refers to extra inf. about the noun.
Sintactically they both function as qualifers in the NP.
